What is ONYX Made of?

We fell in love with Onyx not only because of its amazing benefits ( non-porous, groutless, easy to clean, solid surface) but also because it is durable and versatile. Onyx is made of 63% Alumina Trihydrate (a form of the main ingredient in “solid surface” products) and the other 37% is a special polyester resin that has been developed over the past 30 years plus. All manufacturers try to get properties that make products work best for their applications. Onyx’s application is the bathroom and it serves its purpose well. This formula of resin gives the product that deep, translucent, clear appearance found in natural Onyx.
